Using the site

SOC 2 Compared is a directory of providers, free to browse for people and their agents. You may use our llms.txt, the markdown version of every page and our MCP and JSON endpoints. Don't disrupt, attack or probe the service, get around rate limits, or pass off our index as your own. We may block traffic that abuses the service.

Accounts

Submitting a provider or buying a placement creates an account tied to your email. Keep that inbox secure and your details accurate; we verify account actions such as claims and upgrades through it. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms.

Submissions and claims

Submit only providers you are authorized to represent, with accurate information. You let us use what you send in our research and publish the result. Submitting does not guarantee a listing, and we check everything you send before it appears on the site.

Paid placements

Billing. Prices are in US dollars, plus VAT where it applies. Featured renews monthly or yearly, as you chose, until you cancel. Cancel from your dashboard to stop future charges. The placement runs to the end of the paid period, then stops, and your listing stays. Express review, contributed articles and lead credits are one-time purchases. Anything bought under an earlier offer keeps the terms it was bought under.

Featured. Your listing is shown first in the list on the home page, at the top of its category page, and as a card on related articles and on the listing and alternatives pages of its category. Featured listings share those places in no fixed order, and take turns daily when more are Featured than fit. We don't guarantee an exclusive spot, views or clicks. Featured never changes a listing's rank, score or verdict. Every place carries the Featured label, which is always shown and can't be removed or moved.

Featured includes Express review. You also get our in-depth review of your product, published within 24 hours of the first payment. If you cancel Featured, its places end with the paid period and the review stays while the listing is published. If a payment is refunded or disputed, or the listing is taken down, it becomes a free listing.

We don't guarantee search rankings or traffic.

Express review. When you submit, we check that your product fits this directory before you choose how it goes live. The free option goes live about 30 days after we accept the submission when you have proven you own the site, and about 60 days after it when you have not. Express review is a one-time payment, at the price shown when you choose it: your listing goes live as soon as it is paid and its page is ready, the same day and within 24 hours at the latest, and we publish our in-depth review of your product. If you paid for Express review and we then don't accept the submission, we refund it in full, automatically.

Express review for a published listing. The owner of a published listing can buy Express review once, at the same price. The review is published within 24 hours of payment. There is no refund for rejection, because the listing was already accepted.

Your listing after Express review. It stays published. If your website address changes, we update the listing after checking the new address.

The review. With Express review or Featured, we research and write one in-depth review of your product, published within 24 hours after the listing goes live. It covers what the product does best, its pricing, who it suits, how it compares with alternatives from our index (not ranked), questions to ask and common questions. We write it from our research and your public pages; you don't supply or review the text. Every accepted listing gets its review in time. Express review makes it today: you pay for the timing, not the verdict.

If your site goes away. If your website stops working or redirects somewhere we haven't checked, we pause the link to it and tell you why.

Contributed articles. You pay first, then send the article, or a sentence and link to add to one of our published articles. Articles are original, 800 to 2,000 words and on the site's topic, with at most 2 links to your own site. A contributed article is published under your name, with your role and company and a short author box. It goes live within 48 hours of payment and the final text. We don't publish gambling, adult, pharma, loans or crypto. If we can't publish what you sent, we refund you.

Affiliate links and paid extras

Some links to a provider earn us a commission if a reader signs up. We add them after the listing is written and mark them sponsored and nofollow. The footer says so while any link earns one. A paid listing always links straight to its own site. Vendors can't buy affiliate links or remove a competitor's, and affiliate links don't change what we list or how we rank it.

Paid placement adds the Featured places and expanded analytics where available. Paid listings that are due for a re-check are re-checked first, after listings we have never checked. Lead credits deliver leads as described at checkout. None of these changes the free list's order, what a listing says, or a competitor's listing.

Refunds

Placements start when payment settles. If something goes wrong, email support@soc2compared.com. If we fail to deliver something you paid for, we refund it. The Express review and contributed article refunds above also apply.

We don't refund a change of mind. Recurring services run to the end of the paid period and stop renewing once canceled. Lead credits don't expire. This doesn't limit your mandatory consumer rights.

Accuracy and third-party sites

Listings link to their sources and are re-checked on a schedule, but providers change often. Check pricing and features with the vendor before you rely on them. Sites we link to belong to their owners, and their content, terms and privacy practices are their own.

What we are not liable for

SOC 2 Compared is provided as-is, without warranties. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses: lost profits, lost data, decisions made on listed facts, downtime, or what third-party sites do. Our total liability for any claim is capped at what you paid us in the twelve months before it arose (zero if you paid nothing). Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including your mandatory consumer rights.

Ending things

You can stop using the site at any time. Email support@soc2compared.com to have your account deleted. We may suspend or end accounts and placements that break these terms. If we end a paid placement when you haven't broken them, we refund the unused time.

Law and changes

These terms are governed by Dutch law. SOC 2 Compared is run from the Netherlands. Consumers keep any protections their local law makes mandatory. We may update these terms and the date above shows the current version. A change never shortens a placement you have already paid for.
